Cold morning, damp, foghorns hooting. Good sand. The lesson from the last sculpture was to start with a smaller base and keep the sides steeper going up, to get away from the bottle look. I also built this one more slowly; as wet as everything was the absorption time was long, so I used smaller handfuls. The result was a very solid pile that could have taken much more carving, but I got too hungry to continue. Besides, I liked the simplicity of the large uncarved areas.
